More than half of USW’s nursing and healthcare research is either world-leading or internationally excellent (3-4*) and all of our research is internationally recognised, so the outcome of the 2014 Research Excellence Framework reveals.
“This is a very good result for the Research Centre, showing a robust increase in the quality of our research. In terms of outputs, the proportion of 3-4* research has more than doubled since 2008”, said CRICS leader Professor Maggie Kirk.
“I am also particularly pleased that the impact of our work is at least internationally recognised, with 40% being internationally excellent. This is important as our research programmes aim to make a difference to the health and wellbeing of those with long term healthcare needs – and these results indicate that we are achieving this.”
